About Khao Sip Ha Chan National Park

Khao Sip Ha Chan National Park is located in Chonburi Province on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast. The park is characterized by impressive vertical limestone cliffs rising dramatically from the surrounding landscape, interspersed with dense tropical forests including dipterocarp and evergreen species. Covering approximately 101 square kilometers, the park features a mix of mountainous terrain and coastal marine environments, offering habitats for diverse wildlife such as hornbills, macaques, and various reptiles. Historically established in 1983 to protect the area’s distinctive geological formations and forest ecosystems, the park supports conservation efforts for local flora and fauna. Visitors can explore several well-marked walking trails that lead to panoramic viewpoints over the Gulf of Thailand and nearby islands, as well as hidden caves formed within the limestone cliffs. Recreational opportunities include hiking, birdwatching, nature photography, and occasional rock climbing along select cliff faces. The park’s proximity to Bang Saen and other coastal towns makes it accessible for day trips or multi-day explorations. Its cooler season from November to February is preferred for outdoor activities. The park’s combination of sea views, rugged cliffs, and forested hills appeals to outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers seeking less crowded natural attractions near Thailand’s industrial and urban zones. Amenities and visitor services remain basic, preserving a relatively remote and natural feel.
